Introducing: coffee and pastries at The Bindery on weekend mornings!
Le Marais Bakery owners and Cole Valley residents Patrick and Joanna Ascaso are partnering with Mikha Diaz (Two Sisters Bar and Books, The Alembic) and Christin Evans (Booksmith, The Bindery), to bring a month-long brunch pop-up to The Alembic and a bakery pop-up to The Bindery. Marrying their passion for local and artisanal fare, Paris, and, of course, books, the teams felt The Alembic and The Bindery would be a perfect location for a Le Marais brunch foray into the Haight.
The menu at Alembic will feature the newly launched Le Marais French Roast from Verve Coffee Roasters, a dark European-style roasted blend, as well as classic croques, eggs benedict, famous avocado toast served on croissants, farmer's market salads, a croissant egg sandwich, and brunch boards, for which customers can select their own market ingredients to enjoy smorgasbord-style. The Alembic will have a specuial brunch menu, featuring mole bloody marys and other delights. Rounding out the menu are some child-friendly offerings, like french toast and a grilled cheese sandwich, both made with the bakery's fresh baked pain de mie.
Le Marais will also have a bakery pop-up at The Bindery at 1727 Haight, serving Verve coffee in french press pots alongside a selection of Le Marais' croissants, beignets, cookies, muffins, scones, and pastries, including their beloved gluten-free pain de genes cake. Live music and movies for the kids are also in the works for The Bindery pop-ups: we'll keep you posted!
About Le Marais: Le Marais first opened in 2013 in the Marina at 2066 Chestnut Street, brining authentic Parisian-style, artisanal croissants to San Francisco. It has since expanded to the Castro neighborhood at 498 Sanchez, and will soon be opening a commissary at 1138 Sutter.
Brunch at The Alembic will be served from 10AM - 3:30PM, and coffee and pastries at The Bindery will be served from 10AM - 2PM. Join us to experience a taste of Paris in the Haight!
