Introducing: Movie Nights at The Bindery

Join us for new semi-regular staff-selected and hosted movie nights at The Bindery, 1727 Haight. We're showing our favorite public domain films, with beer, wine, and snacks for sale. See the space, lounge around, have a drink, and watch with us.

A $5 donation is suggested, but we'd prefer you simply buy a book.

August 18, 7:30PM:

The Great Dictator (1940)

Dictator Adenoid Hynkel (Charlie Chaplin) tries to expand his empire while a poor Jewish barber tries to avoid persecution from Hynkel's regime.

August 24, 7:30PM:

Reefer Madness (1936)

Cautionary tale features a fictionalized and highly exaggerated take on the use of marijuana. A trio of drug dealers lead innocent teenagers to become addicted to "reefer" cigarettes by holding wild parties with jazz music. Don't tell mom and dad.
